Hi there,

I'm Eric and you're looking at the love of my life Robin and our two incredible kids Aaron and Alyssa.  I'll tell you a little about myself, but first let me brag on my family.

I've been married to the love of my life since 1994.  She's an excellent school teacher with a passion for scrap-booking.  Aaron loves just about any sport we'll let him play and Alyssa is a ballerina in training.  I feel incredibly lucky to have them in my life.

I was born the son of a preacher which meant we moved every 3 to 4 years.  When people ask me where I"m from, I just say, "The Northwest."  We got married, settled into jobs and had our kids up there and never expected to leave.  However, in 2005 Riverside Community Church asked me to become their senior pastor and its been a great adventure becoming a Californian.

I was blessed to be born into a Christian home, but it took me a while to figure out that doesn't give you any bonus points with God.  I got baptized as a preteen and tried my best to be a good boy.  It was after I became an adult that I realized no matter how hard I tried, I was never going to impress God with how good I was.  There were things about my life that I just couldn't change.

That was when God finally helped me realize just how powerful this thing called grace is.  When I understood that God doesn't wait to love me until I get my act together; that Jesus Christ died for me while I was still a mess, it changed my life.  Since that day I've been trying to share that experience with as many people as I can.

That's what I love so much about Riverside Community Church.  We're a bunch of people who realized we needed someone big enough to help us, bold enough to love us, and strong enough to make a difference.  We're not perfect and we try hard not to pretend we are.  But we are loved and that love is changing us to become the kind of people God dreams we can be.
